Boothe Laser Center And The Future Of Lasik
Lasik surgery is one of the latest advances in the field of vision correction by utilizing laser technology. As the technology improves, amazing new laser vision correction treatments will become available.
The Lasik insdustry reports very high level of satisfaction among patients who underwent this refractive procedure: 95.4 percent worldwide. Dr. William Boothe of Boothe Laser Center explains that this fact indicates that with technological enhancements in the next few years, the overall patient satisfaction rate following a Lasik procedure is likely to remain stable or even ncrease, and this type of surgery will most likely drive better medical outcomes. Technological advances more likely to affect the field of vision correction include those likely to limit the time it takes to carry out surgeries and limit potential side effects.
According to Dr. William Boothe of Boothe Laser Center, there are some people that may obtain better results by waiting for new advancements in refractive correction. New technological breakthroughs may help people that have larger than average pupil sizes or those with irregular astigmatism benefit from better outcomes. People with very thin corneas or those having high prescriptions may also take advantage of future innovations, because Lasik is not yet an ideal procedure for many of them. In the near future, many predict the technological advancements in the field will change this.
The future of vision correction surgery is very encouraging. Advances in surgery will include enhancements in the technique of cutting the flap of the cornea, as well as how the laser is applied to the cornea. Dr. Boothe says there are new and better methods being developed today that make it possible for physicians to more accurately cut the corneal flap during the Lasik procedure.
Currently, special femtosecond lasers for making corneal flaps are being developed by scientists, while others are being designed to lessen problems related to the creation of the Lasik flap. Other laser devices and technologies are also being developed that make it possible for surgeons to work on patients with corneal disorders. For instance, Wavefront technology is one of the most important advances in the field today.
If you are one of the millions of people considering Lasik procedure, you should first consult with a qualified medical specialist. Your surgeon will examine you to make sure you are a good candidate and help you decide if Lasik procedure is suitable for you. Lasik procedure is very safe and beneficial for most patients.
Customized IntraLasik
Customized IntraLasik, utilizing state-of-the-art Wavefront technology, makes it possible for our doctor to offer his patients the next generation of refractive surgery. Formerly, many aberrations of the eye could not be measured. Nowadays with Wavefront mapping technology, Dr. Boothe is able to measure and correct unique visual imperfections 25 times more accurately than with previous, typical measurements for eyeglasses and contact lenses. In fact, many IntraLasik patients experience better eyesight than they ever did with eyeglasses or contact lenses.
PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)
PRK is a perfect option for people who are not suitable candidates for Lasik due to thin corneas or dry eye. The actual procedure itself is painless as local anaesthetic eye drops are used before the surgery starts. The PRK procedure takes only a few minutes to perform. During PRK, the epithelial layer of the cornea is loosened and removed to expose the central part of the cornea called stroma. Then, Dr. Boothe vaporizes specific microscopically thin layers of stromal tissue with a precise, computer-controlled excimer laser. After the surgery, patients may feel some discomfort which could last approximately one to two days while the top layer of the cornea heals. The quality of the eyesight three months after PRK is usually as good as it is after Lasik.
Intraocular Lens Implants (IOL)
During the past thirty years, the techniques and results of cataract surgery have improved dramatically. The best way for a patient to restore natural eyesight after cataract surgery is to permanently implant an intraocular lens inside the eye to replace the natural lens of the eye. The IOL helps to regain peripheral eyesight and image size. This artificial lens, which is made of plastic, silicone or acrylic, is implanted at the Boothe Laser Center in the same position as the cataractous lens. After having a cataract surgery, side vision and image size become normal again and there is no discomfort. Using the IOL technology is currently the most commonly used option for restoring eyesight in cataract patients.

Personal Thank You Letter to Dr. Boothe
I want to say thank you to Dr. Boothe and his staff. Dr. Boothe, in my opinion, is one of the best eye surgeons in the world. His assistants are very unassuming, sociable people. I was feeling like they are a tight-knit family. I want to retell you the story of how I ended up in this clinic.
I dislike visiting hospitals or clinics. I was seldom sick in my childhood and I am used to be treated at home. I did not believe to doctors because I thought that they want to earn money from patients rather than help them.hen you browser the Internet you can find a huge number of centers with the thousands of different procedures. It is difficult to know what to choose, but lately my eyesight was deteriorating rapidly. I was compelled to wear glasses at all times but it was very uncomfortable. I tried to use contact lens but a few hours after the first attempt I got irritation in both eyes. I understood that if I want to return to my usual, active life I should to go to an ophthalmic clinic and improve my vision. But how to choose a good doctor?
I started to collect information about the various procedures to improve vision. My colleague at work advised me to have surgery at the Boothe Eye Care & Laser Center. Their name came up also when I looked online for surgeons who are experienced with Intralasik. I wanted to check everything myself and one day I stopped by the Boothe Eye Care & Laser Center.
I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Boothe was very calm, a nice person. Whatever he did, I became convinced that he is the doctor that I was looking for. During the consultation his assistant was very careful and responsible. After an eye exam, Dr. Boothe said that I can do the laser eye surgery. I felt he is personally interested in helping me. I was respected by the members of his staff who treated my like a queen. Dr. Boothe provided me with convincing facts that show it is the best procedure to improve my vision. He reassured that laser eye surgery isn’t painful and takes a little time.
I went back home and called later to set up a date for surgery. Before my surgery Dr. Boothe met me and asked about my mood. He smiled and said that all will be fine. It helped me cope with my worries. During the surgery Dr. Boothe was serious and focused. I was extremely impressed with the assistant’s friendly attention. They made sure the process would be quick as possible to minimize my time in the center.
Next day, I was able to go to work. I didn’t believe that one day can change my life and I will be able to go back to all activities. Now my vision is perfect and I did not have any problem with my vision after surgery.
It was a good idea to do it. I am appreciated the professionalism and great aftercare of Dr. Boothe. I will recommend him to everybody who is interested in doing laser eye surgery.
